The existing farm buildings at Swithen Farm, were two very different stone built barns, the oldest believed to date from the mid 18th century. Parkin O'Donnell were approached to assess the site, and produce detailed designs for the conversion. The result is eight individually designed dwellings, which although sharing a common style, are each unique in both layout, and internal features.

The whole of the roof structure was replaced, and an innovative design of roof truss utilised to allow three full storeys of accommodation to be provided, without altering the roof-line of the original.
The development features the latest technology in underfloor heating, to provide clear internal walls, and the best in efficient comfort heating.
The buildings have been designed to be as energy efficient as possible, and feature extensive insulation, and controllable ventilation.

Each dwelling features staircases, doors and windows, all manufactured from timber to Parkin O'Donnell's own pattern, extensive structural timber has been left exposed to maximise the character of the houses.
Externally the courtyard has been re-constructed using cobble block paving, with extensive soft landscaping incorporated.
Phase one is now complete, and the conversion of phase two getting underway. Also Parkin O'Donnell have been asked to re-furbish and extend the listed farmhouse to the South of the site.
